DF Capital

Meet the team. This week we have Daniel Savage, Managing Director – Commercial Sectors

What you do?

I am responsible for the commercial assets portfolio but more specifically leading the transport and industrial sectors. Ultimately this is profit and loss responsibility and everything in between.

How long have you been at DF Capital?

Three years.

How are you helping customers at the moment?

I am supporting vendors with continued supply to their dealer network (at a time when Brexit and COVID have increased that challenge!) and in turn helping those dealers with their working capital requirements through the programmes we support, as well as our direct stocking product.

What attracted you to DF Capital / what keeps you here?

I was drawn to the business by the senior commercial team who had some great ideas on how to enhance and rethink the way the banking/finance industry supported inventory finance. Getting the opportunity to work with them was too good to turn down! I now have the chance to see the business realise its potential and the banking license means we can now grow and offer some really exciting new products and customer experiences. I think this is an exciting chapter in DF Capital’s evolution.

What was your first job?

Junior underwriter for Lombard Motor Finance in days well before score cards and decision-making tools!

What would you do if you won the lottery?

I would take the time to like to learn some new skills (I’ve always wanted to be able to make furniture) and I would improve some of my old skills, I think my golf swing would definitely be a starting point!

What is the last picture/photo you took?

My two children sitting on a trampoline next to each other, it was lovely to capture a moment where they were both still and being nice to one another at the same time, quite a rare moment!
